Spring is filled with excitement and adventure in the Smoky Mountains. Topping the list of excitement is the opening of a favorite attraction in Pigeon Forge. After closing in January to prepare for the upcoming season, Dollywood is planning to open their doors for the 28th season on March 22.

The 130 acre theme park From Silver Dollar City to Dollywood, the theme park has expanded each year since the grand opening in 1986.
To kick-off the changes in the 2014 season, the theme park is revealing an exciting new addition on opening day. The FireChaser Express is the country’s first dual-launch family coaster, blasting forward and backward in one ride. The coaster was developed to honor the Smoky Mountain heroes who have pledged to protect as firemen in the area.
Also starting opening day is the annual Festival of Nations. Running through April 21, the month-long festival features performances from around the world. Each afternoon, the performers create a world of wonder at the One World Celebration, uniting more than twelve countries at various locations throughout the park.
There are five festivals running throughout the year from March 22 to January 3.

Throughout the property, there are more than 40 rides, not to mention the fabulous shows and southern-cooked meals.
The park opens at 10:00am each day and closes at 7:00pm all days except for Saturday, when the doors close at 8:00pm for extended fun.
