When you visit the Smoky Mountains, you are probably going to plan to spend a day or two at Dollywood. From September 24th to October 30th, the Dollywood attraction in Pigeon Forge is showcasing the Harvest Festival . Come and celebrate the fall season with some family fun and new events that have never been done before! Here is everything you need to know about the Dollywood Harvest Festival presented by Humana:
When you enter the amusement park, you will be greeted with colorful harvest decorations and beautiful fall leaves on all of the surrounding trees. The celebration is occurring at the perfect time for families to experience the fall colors of the Smokies. New in 2020, the colossal pumpkins will be something you and the whole family will have to see to believe! These pumpkins weigh from 800 to 1,500 pounds a piece! Talk about a big pumpkin pie! These ginormous pumpkins are a good place to take family photos as you will look like a seed compared to the size of these monster pumpkins.
Another cool feature of the Dollywood Harvest Festival is the Great Pumpkin LumiNights. In the Wildwood Grove, all the trees will be decorated in colorful lights as Dolly Parton narrates the transformation of the trees. The grove will be filled with pumpkin displays, treats for children, festive entertainment, and much more. You will not want to miss this event at Dollywood!
Many craftsmen have made their way to the mountains to celebrate the festival with locals and visitors. As you wander through the park, you can stop at the numerous craft tables and talk to the artists as they work on their projects. Dollywood takes pride in offering local artists and craftsman to come show off their projects to the visitors of the park.
With unique arts and crafts like banjo making and handmade historic games, everyone should be able to find a souvenir to remember their trip to the Smokies. Whether you’re looking for woodworkings, jewelry, woven masterpieces or paintings, you’ll be able to find it at Dollywood during the celebration!
Also during the harvest festival, there will be free Southern Gospel music concerts. The park will be in operation, so families will also be able to ride the roller coasters and see the mountains from above the park! While there are many things to enjoy during the festival, do not forget to check out all the rides and restaurants that are available year round throughout the park. The Harvest Festival is just one of the many things that make Autumn in the Smoky Mountains a must see event.
