Once again, the most popular theme park in the Smoky Mountains is hosting a grand summer festival for families. Dollywood’s Summer Celebration festival in Pigeon Forge is set to be bigger than ever with longer park hours, fireworks celebrations and family-friendly fun. Now that the kids are out of school, take a trip to Dollywood to experience one of the most popular festivals! Here is everything you need to know about Dollywood’s Summer Celebration:
Dollywood’s Summer Celebration is set to kick off on June 25th at 10:00am. The festival in Pigeon Forge will run until July 31st with patriotic tributes, special music, food and rides. To give families extra time to celebrate summer and enjoy this time together, park hours will also be extended each day of the summer season. Summer park hours are 10:00am to 9:30pm.
To add patriotic pride to the summer festivities , Dollywood will open each day with a live performance of the Star Spangled Banner and close with a colorful fireworks show. The fireworks show, Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors, will feature specially recorded music just for this event. Coming new to Dollywood in 2021, is Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights. This multi-colored drone experience will light up the skies throughout the park! Take advantage of the nice weather to watch the drones tell a unique story through 3D animations and a bursting energy of light. Prior to the drones taking flight, there will be Dollywood dance parties beginning at 8:45 p.m. The drone show and fireworks display will begin at 9:40 p.m. every night during the festival.
During the drone show, a DJ will top off the experience with soundtracks that the drones will love dancing to while energetic dancers take to the streets in Wildwood Grove. Also returning this season to Dollywood is the Dreamland Drive-in, a show that will have you singing and dancing along to songs from the 50s and 60s. Spend your summer nights taking a trip back in time to some of the best years for music.
As the temperatures are hot at the park, don’t forget to let the kids cool down in one of our splash pads. Don’t worry, we won’t judge if we see you splashing around either. Dollywood also offers a good selection of water rides to keep you cooled off during the steamy summer weather. If you get too hot, you can always head over to Dollywood’s Splash Country as well. You will have plenty of time to make your way through the park and ride all the thrilling roller coasters before watching the drone and firework show.
