1. Ride the Rides
When you drive down the Pigeon Forge Parkway, you can’t miss The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel in the skyline. This is one of the major rides at The Island you’ll definitely want to experience! You’ll be in a glass gondola and have an amazing view of the Smokies and Pigeon Forge. Your kids will want to experience all of the rides, including the Flying Horse Carousel and the Twist’N’Shout. In addition to these rides, you can play escape games, have some fun on the ropes course, or go through a mirror maze.
2. Play at the Arcade
If your family loves to play games, then you need to visit Arcade City while you’re at The Island in Pigeon Forge. They have racing games, claw machines, skee ball, and jackpot games you can play. You’ll load money onto a card and swipe it at each game, racking up points. Once you’re done playing, take your card to the prize counter where you can grab some prizes to take home!
3. Watch the Show Fountain
You don’t have to spend any money to have a good time at The Island! The Island Show Fountain is free entertainment you can enjoy. There are chairs and benches around the fountain where you can relax. There are water geysers that are synchronized to music with colorful lights, and the show runs every 30 minutes.
4. Get a Great Meal
There are quite a few restaurants at The Island in Pigeon Forge you might want to try. Margaritaville has amazing cocktails and seafood. Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen has all the southern classics, and food is served family style instead of like a traditional restaurant. Dick’s Last Resort is a fun and unique dining experience where your servers are rude to you on purpose. Mellow Mushroom has pizza, salads, sandwiches, and more for everyone to enjoy.
5. Grab a Snack
If you get hungry for a snack while you’re at The Island, there are plenty of places where you can grab one. The Yee Haw Snack Shack has nachos, hot dogs, and snow cones. Byrd’s Famous Cookies are a great sweet treat, as well as Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon. Kapop is a gourmet popcorn shop where you can try popcorn in a huge variety of flavors. No matter what you crave, you’ll find it!
6. Look Through the Shops
Love to go shopping on vacation? There are over 40 stores you can check out at The Island. You’ll find boutiques with cute clothes and accessories. There are home decor stores, art galleries, and a puzzle store with games. There are toy stores for kids to enjoy, and novelty stores for adults with all kinds of cool items.
